The Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim is a fun, inclusive, community event that raises funds for organisations and charities, with a special emphasis on supporting local causes.
What began back in 1984 with just 10 swimmers has grown into a spectacular coastal event. Now recognised by Pembrokeshire County Council as a major event, the Saundersfoot Swim is proudly the UK’s biggest festive dip.
In 2026, a record-breaking 3,323 registered swimmers braved the icy waters, cheered on by around 10,000 spectators. Over the years, the event has raised more than £800,000 for charities, thanks to the dedication and generosity of participants, sponsors, and volunteers.
This incredible event can only happen with the continued support of our sponsors, event partners, volunteers, and of course, the brave people who take the plunge each New Year’s Day.
Whether you’re fundraising for a cause close to your heart, joining in fancy dress, or simply coming along to cheer from the beach – you’ll be part of an unforgettable community celebration.
